I hung this from a tree in front yard. It has some shade, but also gets sun. I'm in Tucson, so lots of sun. I put it up in December, now June.........and the top of ball is completely silver now, not Hot Pink.Just as described. Definitely a most for any Christmas decorations. I hang a bunch of these up above the entrance for our porch. They seem pretty durable. I accidentally bumped one and it fell down about 12 feet onto the porch and there was only 1 very small mark where the color chipped off.I am a huge fan of Vickerman ornaments. I have 25+ large Vickerman ornaments ranging from 8"-12", including mirror finish, glitter, satin, and matte. They're well made and fantastic statement pieces for the holidays. I like hanging mine from the ceiling of my home at varying heights for a "snowing" effect. I get compliments all the time, and I'll continue only buying Vickerman ornaments for my oversized ornament collection.Perfect for out Charlie Brown tree at church!Paint is scratched off in the middle of the ball.
